Congratulations go out to Ben and Caroline Lomax who, on behalf of The Christie Fund, have now raised in excess of £8,500. On 31st August 2011, Ben and Caroline are aiming to climb over 19,000 feet to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

“The Christie” is one of the leading European Cancer Hospitals, treating more than 40,000 people each year. It serves a population of 3.2 million patients across Greater Manchester and Cheshire but as a national specialist also takes in 26% of patients from across the country through referrals.

The majority of the money raised has come via sponsorship of the Christie Flag from businesses, including ISSL. The flag will be waved and photographed from the top of the mountain after a gruelling 8 days of consecutive walking.

Although the flag has now been produced, you can still offer donations at Ben and Caroline’s Just Giving page - http://www.justgiving.com/9-do-Kilimanjaro-for-Christies. All donations—no matter how big or small—are gratefully received!
